One of the things we can do to regain the balance and help avoid these health issues is:
According to TCM, the kidneys support and nourish the brain through Qi (energy). The kidneys support the brain, spinal cord and bones by producing marrow, which is why TCM calls the brain, “the sea of marrow.”
If the kidney energy is deficient, the support system is deficient and weakened. This can ultimately lead to problems in the brain such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. So to help prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s, one of the things to focus on is strengthening your kidney energy. One of the things you can do is:
Bring your column up. There are four things involved with the column.
- Lifting the Hui Yin up (prenim)
- Hui Yin connects up with the Dan Tian (under the navel, inside the stomach. Prenatal and postnatal energy comes from here!)
- Use the Dan Tian to push the spine up
- All the way up to the Bai Hui into the sky (crossing point from both tips of the ears and the middle line of the body)
Prevention and wisdom are the two principles of Traditional Qi.

just realized that maybe I shouldn’t have posted the name of the QiGong I do for dementia. I don’t make money or trying to promote it. I’m just so thank ful that I found this after such a horrible diagnosis that I want to tell the world about QiGong and 30 years ago I cured a breast tumor with Soaring Crane QiGong. My doctor told me about it and stated that one has to be really careful to get a good QiGong system or it would be ineffective. I have gone to many free and inexpensive classes at churches, senior centers, etc and it wasn’t worth it by these well meaning people. Want you to know, if you have a serious disorder like dementia , that you must research and get a good program going for it to work
my QiGong teacher says the same thing about kidney energy. Tapping/clapping on ears and lower back with palms of hands also helps with kidney energy. I was diagnosed with dementia, couldn’t even draw a clock. Found the most comprehensive, old school medical QiGong that I could (Qinway QiGong) . Have had amazing results. Its important to do a complete set of excercises that work together to balance all body systems, otherwise, if you work on kidney energy only, you might create some other disorder. Anyone wanting to talk more about my progress with dementia, email at carol3roberts@yahoo.com
Big help, big help. And speurlative news of course.
As a weight iflter I never thought about Tai Chi. But a friend insisted that I give it try. I went to a class with him and was hooked. It wasn’t during my first Tai Chi class that I saw immidiate benefits. But after I noticed a stark increase in my focus while lifting. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the article and give my two cents.
